Could do - but it'll have to be a swift one, because I'm actually
going to make the first half of the journey home on the Saturday
night. (So mine will obviously be lemonade!)
Dismantling is scheduled for 5pm ish to 6:30pm ish, though I doubt
it'll take me that long.
Hehe - it is now almost 11pm on the Thursday night, just a day and
a half until the show, and I haven't actually finished the
software I'll be demonstrating at the show. 8-)
It's an adventure game which has been written very much as a rush
job (because there was no way WebChange would be finished - oh the
irony). It's called Quicksand and is - very loosely - based on
Life on Mars. (Quicksand being a Bowie song from the same album as
Life on Mars - and there's no quicksand in the game!)
"Your name is Stan Tyler. You were in an accident, and you've
woken up in an adventure game. Are you mad, in a coma, or
transformed into binary data?"
Things still to do:
* Take more pictures. I was planning to get them last weekend, but
it was pissing down. For the moment, the locations I don't have
images for show a BBC test card.
* Code the ending, and a few links between certain sections of the
map and the very start.
* Add some humour. It is severely lacking in any humour.
Things that will get done before the show:
* None of the above. :-)
I'll just tidy up a couple of loose ends, make sure the obvious
bugs are ironed out, and put it on CD to copy onto the RISC OS
machine that's going up with me. The rest of my time will be
finding the leads etc for that machine, making sure it works, and
testing a sample of the [old version of] WebChange floppy discs to
make sure they work (they'll be freebies at the show).
