for the technicality that he's still alive. And fast-medium rather than
medium, surely? I see that Sir Alec himself reckons that he bowled at
about the same pace as Matthew Hoggard.
As to whether he was the greatest of all time at his pace, if you accept
that Barnes typically bowled at the same sort of pace (and I agree that
it's arguable) then he would have to go ahead of him. Possibly Tate,
too.
