France and Italy aren't playing well but I must admit Oranje is on a
roll. They've had a bit of luck though at crucial stages of both
matches. Still, 3-0 and 4-1 are pretty impressive results, the people
over here are ecstatic. I've put up some photos of our street on
Facebook if you're interested, just search for Graham Wood in Rotterdan
and you'll find them'. :0)
Van Basten has been working on his system for about 4 years, in all that
time it's never worked and now, just when it matters, it's all clicked
together. The most impressive thing is that he's got rid of the ego
trippers and put in players who'll work for each other, this has created
a great team spirit, that's a rare achievement for a Dutch coach. The
last one who managed that feat was Rinus Michels when they won the Euros
back in 88.
